Speaker Bio

Gary Lai is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Computer Science at Emory University and works with Prof. Jinho D. Choi at the Emory NLP Lab. His research focuses on Natural Language Processing and Large-scale computing. Gary is the primary research scientist of the ELIT project, focusing on the optimization of NLP components for large-scale computing as well as the development of backend API and a scalable infrastructure based on Amazon Web Services (AWS). Before coming to Emory, he has received his bachelor degree in the Department of Industrial and Information Management from National Cheng Kung University, Taiwan in 2012. Gary is also the founder and CTO of Jungllle Inc, providing services for web, app, and API server development.
